As a satellite-based Internet system, dishNET High-Speed Satellite Internet comes with monthly data allowances of Anytime use data, plus Off-Peak Bonus data allowance. Off-Peak Bonus data is available from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. When you have used all of your anytime data allowance in a given month, your download speed will be reduced to approximately 128 Kbps during the corresponding time of day.
Customers are encouraged to check their data usage often by visiting mydish.com/myinternet. Data measurements are not real-time, but are updated at regular intervals.
Anytime and Off-Peak Data
Your Anytime data is used anytime you access the Internet, unless it is during off-peak hours (2 a.m. to 8 a.m.). During this off-peak time you are given an additional Off-Peak data allowance. Once you have used up your Off-Peak Bonus data, your Internet usage between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. will count against your Anytime data allowance. Your Off-Peak Bonus data is only available between the hours of 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Once you've used all of your Off-Peak Bonus data, you will begin using your Anytime data allowance during this time period.
Uploading still requires data transmission over the network and is applied towards your monthly data allowance.
There is no charge for exceeding your monthly data allowance. However, when you reach your cap your speed will drop to approximately 128 Kbps. At the start of the next billing cycle, you will be returned to full speed. You can purchase additional data or upgrade your package at any time if you find your data allowance to be insufficient.
You can add additional data allowance in 1GB increments for $10 each and is added to your Anytime data. The additional data expires at the end of your regular billing cycle for that month—it does not roll over to the next month. If you are often purchasing additional data, it may be to your advantage to upgrade your service plan.
You are able to upgrade your service as long as a higher package is available. Monthly charges will be pro-rated to reflect this upgrade.
