Hi, I’m Ryan.
DISH’s 54.0 Voice remote combines customers’ favorite features of previous remotes to create one awesome product that will let you navigate your Hopper-family receiver with ease. Let’s go over some must-use features of the remote, so you can get the most out of it.
Voice control is one of my favorite features of this remote. That’s because all I have to do is speak a voice command and my receiver will find what I want to watch.
To use voice control, press and hold the microphone button. Your receiver will start listening. Speak a voice command, such as a show or movie title, actor, or sports team, and then release the microphone button. Your receiver will display a list of results – simply choose the one you want!
You can also use the voice command feature to quickly jump to your favorite parts of your receiver. For example, if you have a Hopper 3 or Hopper w/Sling, just say “Netflix” to open the Netflix app.
Some buttons on this remote perform more than one action. Press and hold the Back button to get back to live TV from any menu within your receiver. Or press and hold the Info button to get help on any screen.
Another handy feature of the remote are these diamond buttons at the bottom, as they let you perform shortcuts with just a click of a button. Press and hold the diamond button, and choose what you want to do with it from the list onscreen.
You can turn closed captioning on and off, launch Netflix, turn on Picture-in-Picture, and more.
Repeat for the double-diamond button to further customize your experience.
The remote will also automatically enable backlighting when you pick it up or move it in the dark.
And don’t forget – if you ever lose the remote, you can easily find it by pressing the Locate Remote button on the front of your receiver. Just follow the beeping sound to find it!
