Missing Distant Networks

What Is Happening?

You are not able to receive your ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX channels from Los Angeles, CA on your Wally, 211z, 211k, or 211 receiver.

Why Is It Happening?

This problem is typically caused by an error at the receiver or signal problem.

How Do I Fix It?

Resolve this issue by completing all the steps below.

  1. Check the channel to which you are tuning.

Distant Network Service consists of the Los Angeles, CA, Big-4 stations. The channels you will receive are:

    ABC on channel 9655
    CBS on channel 9656
    NBC on channel 9657
    FOX on channel 9658

  2. Make sure you have signal for satellite 119

These channels are coming from satellite 119. Test if you have that channel by going to channel 829 (DISH 101), which comes from the same satellite and also has helpful information for your DISH system.

  3. Re-authorize your receiver

Access the DISH Outdoors Self-Service Portal, available online and in the MyDISH App. All you need is a account and you’ll be able to reauthorize your service at the touch of a button.

  4. Reset your DISH receiver

Unplug the power cord of your DISH receiver (may have a red tag) from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. The reset process may take up to 5 minutes to complete.
