With Amazon Alexa integration, you can now control functions on your Hopper receiver or Wally without having to pick up the remote. Follow the steps below to set up Alexa and begin using voice commands.

Channel change (by name or channel number)

Changes to requested channel. Alexa will announce the channel and what is currently playing.

“Alexa, tune to ESPN”
“Alexa, go to channel 300”
“Alexa, watch NCIS”

Search (by content name, genre, or actor)

Performs an integrated search for the spoken keyword and returns Netflix, Video On Demand, DVR, and Guide results, if applicable.

“Alexa, search for The Big Bang Theory”
“Alexa, show me comedies”
“Alexa, find Tom Hanks movies”

After you retrieve your search results, use the remote to select or play the desired content.

DVR Play

Begins playback of content that’s already stored on your DVR. The content must already be recorded, otherwise playback will not be started.

“Alexa, watch The Big Bang Theory”

Playback Controls

“Alexa, pause/stop”
“Alexa, play/resume”
“Alexa, skip back/skip forward” (A timeframe can be specified, like 60 seconds. If a timeframe isn't stated, the default skip is 30 seconds)
