Frequently Asked Questions

Is NHL CENTER ICE the right package for me?

The NHL CENTER ICE package is the perfect package for hockey fans living outside of their favorite team's local area, (like a Chicago Blackhawks fan living in Detroit or a Boston Bruins fan in Tampa). It gives you access to all of your team's games, even if you live across the country.

Are you a fan of more than one team? Do you want to watch as many hockey games as possible this season? The NHL CENTER ICE package is perfect for you! With up to 14 live games a night, NHL CENTER ICE brings you the most hockey possible.

How long does my NHL CENTER ICE subscription last?

Your NHL CENTER ICE subscription lasts for one season and covers all out of market regular season NHL games.

What does "out-of-market" mean? What games can I actually watch?

"Out-of-market" refers to games that are typically only available outside of your local TV market and are not televised in your local market via your local networks, regional sports networks or national networks. NHL Center Ice gives you access to out-of-market games only, and does not grant access to any games that are typically televised in your local viewing area.

For example, if you live in Denver, Colorado, NHL Center Ice will NOT grant you access to Colorado Avalanche games because they are in your local broadcast region. However, if you live in Tampa Bay, Florida, and want to watch the Avalanche, NHL Center Ice will grant you access to all Colorado Avalanche games that aren't subject to local blackout.

Blackout restrictions include your local NHL team(s) and all nationally televised games. So as a Avalanche fan living in Tampa Bay, NHL Center Ice will allow you to watch all Avalanche games EXCEPT games that are nationally televised (e.g. games that air on networks like NHL Network, ESPN, TNT, and ABC) and games where the Colorado Avalanche play your local team, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

If you are looking to gain access to your local team's games, NHL Center Ice will not be the best option for you.

If DISH doesn't carry my regional sports network, will I be able to watch my local team with NHL Center Ice?

No, NHL Center Ice will only give you access to games of teams that are outside of your local viewing area.
