Set Up Broadband

There are several ways to connect to broadband service:

Setup

Using Ethernet

   
1. Connect the Ethernet cable from the router to the receiver


To Verify:

   
1. Press the MENU button
2. Select Settings
3. Select Network Setup
4. Select Broadband
5. Verify that the network connection reads OK

Using Wi-Fi

Using Internal Wireless

   
1. Press the MENU button
2. Select Settings
3. Select Network Setup
4. Select Broadband
5. Select Wireless Setup
6. Select Wizard
7. Select your desired network from the list
8. Select Next
9. Enter your wireless network password.  If the network is not password protected, the Encryption Setup pop-up will not display.
 
10. Select Done

Using a Wireless Adapter

   
1. Connect the wireless adapter to the receiver

(A Netgear Model WNDA3100v2 Wi-Fi adapter is the only supported Wi-Fi adapter that allows wireless communication between a wireless Internet gateway and a compatible DISH receiver)
2. Attention 396 will display.  Select Wizard.
3. Arrow to and select your network
4. Select Next
5. Enter your wireless network password.  If the network is not password protected, the Encryption Setup pop-up will not display.

 
6. Select Done

Through Another Receiver Already Connected

The bridging feature on the Hopper allows a broadband connected receiver to share its broadband connection with other receivers on the network

 

   
1. Confirm that there is a Hopper connected to the network  
2. Press the MENU button
3. Select Settings
4. Select Network Setup
5. Select Broadband
6. Select Network Details
7. Select Bridging
8. Select Enable
9. Select Save
